Memorial Plaza

Today is Memorial Day in the United States. This is the Louisiana Memorial Plaza, which is located on the grounds of the Veterans Memorial Museum at the riverfront. On the black granite walls are the names of those Louisianians who died while in military service.

It is always good to see each state and cities in the states who have memorials to veterans. I know I am a veteran of the Korean War era and there is nothing in my hometown. They do put a little bronze thing on veteran's graves and the think the government supplies that and a flag for the funerals. So you have more than most.

I have some good news:

The three baby robins are on their way to Meet the World. I miss them already. It was quite an emotional experience.

Hi, Abe,
There is a special memorial for Korean War vets at the plaza - I'll go back and get a picture. Friend of the family Jerry Pugh is a Korean War vet (Navy) and involved with Fleet Reserve.

Bonjour, Olivier!
There are two other locations in Baton Rouge which have planes as memorials: one location is at the university, and one is at a veterans' hall.
